IKM Building Services, partnering LITE Ltd, were awarded a 5 year framework agreement with Perth & Kinross Council for their Perth City of Light project. This multi-disciplined project is to deliver external lighting initiatives to create a unique, vibrant and attractive evening scene to aid Perth’s night activities. The first project issued in the framework was Norie-Miller Park. Over a couple of years, this large green space on the banks of the River Tay has successfully held temporary lighting displays in the month of February. The purpose of our project is to make these lighting displays a permanent fixture. The park is a well-used natural asset with many local artwork pieces.
LITE developed the concept lighting schemes which were presented to the council’s internal team. These designs highlighted the natural landscape of the park, including the pond and waterfall, as well as the walkways and the distinctive artwork. Once accepted, IKM Building Services provided the electrical infrastructure design and general project management services. The project was delivered on site by SSUK, another member of the project partnership. The project results have been well received by the council, with installation in its very final stages. Two other projects from the framework are currently being designed.
