Project Description

Ground Water Monitoring | United Kingdom

Project Details

CLIENT:  CONFIDENTIAL

GROUNDWATER MONITORING
GROUND WATER MONITORING

The Challenge

Our client required groundwater monitoring across multiple Upper Tier COMAH sites. This included:

• Export sites across Scotland
• Pipeline pumping stations
• Main Processing facilities

Our client has a Pollution Prevention Control Permit (PPC) that requires regular sampling and monitoring to ensure compliance and to highlight as early as possible any potential developing issues such as below ground pipework leaks.

The Solution

IKM has been involved on this client’s assets for nearly 20 years and our experience working on Top Tier COMAH sites in relation to control of work processes, permit applications, risk assessed method statements and safe systems of work demonstrably saved our client both time and expense.

IKM facilitated collecting & analysing groundwater samples from borehole locations across several assets.

Contaminants of concern were identified based on the Relevant Hazardous Substances and the requirements of the PPC permit.

Groundwater reports were prepared including historical records to track trends and changes over time.

A GIS database was developed for the client to hold all geo-environmental data captured for further interrogation and reporting in the future.
