Environmental Management System. IKM have assisted industrial clients in establishing internal environmental management systems from scratch.

Establishing an environmental management system raises the awareness of the client's staff to enable the system to be managed internally and carrying out follow up audits to ensure compliance.

Amongst the Environmental Team at IKM, there are two experienced environmental auditors, who are Associate members of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (AIEMA) and have completed the Advanced Diploma in Environmental Management and Auditing.

Key areas set out in the of ISO14001 documents which could be assessed by IKM include:

  • Existing procedures and practices
  • Identification of significant environmental aspects
  • Legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Issues arising from incidents and enquiries.

Other sections may cover environmental policies, environmental objectives and targets, environmental impacts, environmental legislation and environmental training and competence.

Typically, a project specific audit schedule is drawn up, depending on the nature of the site and activities being undertaken.
