Energetic Approach From Greenroom IKM:

The expansion of IKM’s capabilities following its link-up with Edinburgh-based Greenroom Building Services in 2008 is proving to be a major success.

The partnership brought together IKM’s engineering and environmental capabilities with Greenroom’s expertise and experience in building services and sustainable energy.

The key focus for Greenroom IKM is on providing low energy sustainable solutions to building services via a creative and proactive approach.

The team is currently working in a wide range of sectors both public and private; from small scale re-wire projects in the voluntary sector to the provision of specialist knowledge for the preparation of facilities for university laboratories along with management of maintenance contracts for a further education college.

Previous projects have included work on a range of new facilities for the Doncaster Bloodstocks auction house, which handles the sale of over 3,500 racehorses a year, including a covered parade ring, bar / cafe area, private offices, and gift shop.

This year has also seen the opening in Dundee’s Marketgait of new headquarters for investment company Alliance Trust. The project, which includes open plan offices on each floor, meeting rooms and breakout spaces, is a BREEAM energy saving building which encompasses various factors including insulation, heating and travel routes around the facility.

Greenroom IKM has also installed a range of security facilities for oil giant BP at Sullom Voe terminal in the Shetland Isles including a security gatehouse, entrance gate traffic lights, out and in lane road blockers and a staff turnstile.
