Brief

IKM Consulting Ltd have been involved in a number of steading redevelopments for a housing developer in the East Lothian area. IKM Consulting Ltd were requested to provide structural engineering design along with engineering advice during the design and construction phases of the project.

Solution

For each development IKM Consulting Ltd have carried out dilapidation surveys in order to confirm the suitability of existing structure for conversion. This allowed the design of new foundations, load bearing structure and roofs  to be undertaken which will utilise the existing structure.

We then provided on-site assistance and advice during the construction phase to assist in achieving the high standards required.

Outcome

Four developments have been successfully completed on time within budget. At present one development is under construction with a further one at the design phase.
