Brief

IKM Consulting Ltd have created a database of all known chemical tests of soil quality within a refinery complex.

The purpose of the database was to provide rapid access to health and safety details for all personnel engaged in planning or carrying out excavation works anywhere on the site.

Solution

The soil database can be searched quickly and simply by utilising one of four searches:

  • Online maps.
  • Coordinate search.
  • Sample ID search.
  • Keyword search.

The advantages of the soil samples database over paper based systems include:

  • Availability throughout refinery
  • Easily updated
  • Saves money

 

Outcome

The database contains 2500+ records, all recorded to the nearest few metres and is continually updated with new information. Full contamination assessment reports are attached as hyperlinks.
