Brief

IKM Consulting Ltd was appointed as the design consultant to provide integrated architectural and engineering services for a new Fire Station serving Scatsta Airfield in Shetland. The portal framed building houses  

3 fire tenders and provides amenity and office facilities for the firemen.

Solution

Due to the highly exposed, remote nature of the site, the working areas are well insulated, and constructed from durable materials able to withstand the harsh elements of the Shetland coastline.
