Brief

IKM's geological specialists were appointed to carry out a mineral stability and infrastructure investigation for a 12 hectare site to the east of Edinburgh.  The site is ultimately to be developed for up to 1,000 homes.

Solution

IKM supervised over 60 rotary cored and open hole boreholes to build up a three dimensional geological model of the site.  Despite the presence of multiple coal seams, IKM were able to demonstrate that only minimal quantities of grouting will be required and that the site is viable.
