IKM Consulting Ltd provided structural assessment and designed pre-weakening works for the demolition at Kincardine Power Station Chimneys.

Solution

IKM's design covered all the structural elements required to ensure the safe demolition of these huge structures.

IKM calculated the safe amount of pre-weakening, how to ensure the correct angle of fall and the mitigation works to prevent damage at ground level.  

Outcome

Demolition of the two chimneys was achieved highly successfully, and to the delight of the watching crowd.
