Brief

IKM were appointed to provide a structural assessment of the condemned Kincardine Power Station. The safest way to demolish this complex structure was explosively.

Solution

IKM carried out a detailed structural assessment of the complex building. Calculations on the amount of pre-weakening that would be required were made.  

Outcome

The staged demolition to remove the turbine house, economisers, silos and finally the boilers in the main structure, was successfully completed.
