Brief
Following the incident at BP Texas Refinery on March 23 2005 when 15 people were killed, it has been recognised that a change in the approach to temporary accommodation in petrochemical complexes in necessary to ensure that the lessons learned are addressed.
Solution
IKM have undertaken the assessment of existing modular units and designed new units to withstand blast over pressure of up to 300mba a very considerable blast force.
Outcome
IKM Consulting Ltd have designed turnaround accommodation that compiles with current legislation and the CIA guidelines for occupied buildings on petrochemical sites. These have proved to be highly popular both with our petrochemical clients and with their forward operating workforce.
