Brief

Building upon the strong existing "Biotechnology Cluster" within Scotland, Scottish Enterprise identified the need for expansion of associated educational training facilities.

As a consequence, IKM were commissioned by Falkirk College to investigate options for expansion of their existing campus facilities to incorporate a Bio-Technology Laboratory.

The facility was to be used for both teaching future employees within related industries and for undertaking pilot studies and trials in conjunction with commercial organisations.

Solution

Our proposals ruled out options to provide the facility within the existing buildings and generated a simple, crisp  Pavilion Unit comprising a profiled metal clad portal frame, compact space planning arrangement and generating a strong visual presence.
