Brief
IKM Consulting Ltd compiled and produced a Risk Assessment/Safety Case for the redevelopment of Scatsta Airport in line with industry best practice. This work was critical to obtaining Civil Aviation Authority approval for the redevelopment.
Solution
Following on from IKM’s original work, the risks relating to crosswind operations at Scatsta Airfield, Shetland were also assessed by our specialists
Outcome
IKM provided a frame-work for round table assessments of current risk scenarios involving crosswinds. The group then assessed the risks if the crosswind limit were raised to the aircraft’s rated limit. Suitable risk reduction measures were then put in place.
